Mountaintown Creek is without a doubt one of North Georgia's most beautiful, wilderness trout streams. Don't let the word “Creek” mislead you. This creek is as wide as the Upper Toccoa River and has the natural beauty of the most secluded parts of the Toccoa River.

    The headwaters of Mountaintown Creek flow out of the Cohutta Wilderness providing cool, clear, nutrient rich, trout water. The huge boulders create noisy, cascading whitewater that is one of the most picturesque creek settings in all of North Georgia.

    This portion of the stream is privately stocked, plus there is a good population of native brown's and rainbows.
